Set within a two-acre landscape, Praana Resort is conceived as a retreat where architecture remains deliberately restrained, allowing the landscape to define the experience of the place. The project began with a fundamental decision to limit the built footprint to approximately one-fourth of the site, preserving nearly three-fourths as open landscape. Rather than treating the unbuilt areas as residual spaces around architecture, the design reverses this relationship—the landscape becomes the foreground, while the built form remains compact and carefully integrated within it.

From Discovery to Stillness

The spatial character of Praana is shaped by the contrast between journey and arrival. The movement through the landscape is informal, exploratory and deliberately unpredictable. Upon reaching the central pavilion, this experience transforms—the geometry becomes ordered, views align, and movement acquires a sense of calm and clarity. This transition from exploration to stillness forms the underlying architectural idea of Praana Resort. Architecture here does not seek to dominate the landscape. Instead, it quietly frames movement, gathering, pause and discovery—creating a retreat where the experience of the place takes precedence over the presence of the building.
